Job Summary:

To ensure thatRespiratory Therapy services rendered (the evaluation and treatmentof patients) are completed in a timely, accurate and reliablemanner. Those served include inpatients, outpatients, UHS staff andemployees as well as affiliated UHS community groups as needed.

JobResponsibilities:

• Administers respiratory therapy procedures asdirected by the manager.
• Performs Aerosol Therapy treatments
• Performs CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask therapy (secretion mobilizationtherapy).
• Performs Incentive Spirometry therapy.
• Performs M.D.I.therapy.
• Performs Suctioning procedure.
• Performs Extubationprocedure.
• Responsible for Oxygen Tank Safety.
• Performs OxygenTherapy on all approved devices.
• Manages BiPAP-CPAP therapy andalarms.
• Performs Cough Assist/Vest therapy.
• Manages High FlowCannula/Humidifier therapy and alarms.
• Performs Pulmonary FunctionScreen diagnostic procedure.
• Performs Fit Testing procedure incoordination with Employee Health.
• Performs Pulse Oximetryprocedure.
• Performs Adult EKG procedure.
• Performs Pediatric EKGprocedure.
• Performs Adult BLS life support.
• Performs PediatricBLS life support.
• Performs Neonatal BLS life support.
• ManagesMechanical Ventilation.
• Manages Ventilator Alarms.
• PerformsArterial Puncture and Analysis for the Blood Gas Laboratory
• Performs Quality Control for the Blood Gas Laboratory.
• Managespatient healthcare information system (Soarian).
• Managesmedication administration program (MAK).
• Manages medicationdispensing system (McKesson).
• Verifies physician s written ordersperforming pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic and therapeuticprocedures.
• Records and reports appropriately the results of allprocedures.
• Performs BLS when necessary, after certification
• Abides by the department Delivery Standards.
• Maintains files andbookkeeping records in accordance with department policy.
• Performsother related duties.
• Assists in departmental in-service program
• Will perform other duties as assigned.

• Registered bythe NBRC as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS (AHA, HSI, or AmericanRed Cross) and ACLS Certification from American Heart Association(AHA) .
