Glenwood Inc. is a progressive multi-site agency that provides afull range of outpatient services for children and families withmental health needs and is the premier provider of Autism servicesfor the state. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team asa Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services from 8 amto 5 pm in our Birmingham office. The Behavioral Therapy Center isa supportive, close-knit, collaborative team with a focus onpositive outcomes for families and maintaining a positive workenvironment for our staff members.
RESPONSIBILITIES ANDDUTIES
Assess and identify specific speech, language, and/orcommunication needs for development of the treatment plan, toestablish a baseline of child’s present skills for judging futureprogress, and to help plan and conduct treatment sessions.
Work witha multidisciplinary treatment team to consult and share informationwith staff and parents regarding assessment andtreatment.
Collaborate with other clinician on overall language andcommunication program.
Work collaboratively with agencyprofessionals to ensure that individuals served on assignedcaseload are provided highest quality therapy servicesavailableComplies with Code of Ethics and demonstrates respect andregard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors, andfellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, andcourteous environment.
Fulfills professional developmentrequirements and other assignments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
2+year(s) of experience in autism, developmental disabilities and/ormental health related behaviorsKnowledge of Autism, EmotionalDisturbance, and other Developmental DisabilitiesMaster’s degreeand certification in Speech Language PathologyCCC-SLPrequiredCurrent AL driver’s license and must be insurable throughGlenwood’s contracting insurer.
Certification in agency providedtraining in 1st Aid, CPR, MCS (Managing Crisis Safely)
