Job Description
Receives supervision from the Director of Rehabilitation services. Evaluates and implements treatment plans to address deficits identified, and provides patient and family education and support. Frequently provides care for adult and geriatric populations in the inpatient rehab, acute care, and outpatient setting. This classification may provide care for adolescent patients. Experience with MBS and FEES highly preferred. Alabama License in Speech Pathology by the Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology and Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association. (Registration as a clinical fellow with ASHA and ABESPA is acceptable for the first 9-12 months of employment.) A minimum of BLS is required. BLS must be obtained within 30 days of hire. BLS must be renewed per BLS guidelines and up to date. Videofluoroscopic and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation Practice Privilege Requirements should be fulfilled according to standards within the first year of employment.
