Per Diem, PRN Job Description:
Provides patient care services along with direct treatment andfollow-up. Evaluates and treats patients with a physician’s order due to aspeech, language, swallow, or cognitive disorder, and develops aplan of care appropriate to the patient’s diagnosis. Documents patient care data accurately, thoroughly, and in atimely matter, reflecting evidence of improvement/progress/declinein patient’s condition. Communicates as necessary with intercompany and intracompanycontacts, and establishes/maintains open lines of communicationamong branch administrative and management staff, and otherclinical staff. Attends patient care conferences, meetings, and mandatoryin-services as scheduled, and provide weekly statisticaldata. Provides in-service education, health care professionaleducation, and public education in addition to supervising peersand supporting personnel and students in training as needed by thecompany. Conducts research and assists with orientation of new employeesas needed.
Job Requirements:
Master’s degree in speech language pathology and Certificate ofClinical Competence from the American Speech and HearingAssociation, as well as current licensure from the state in whichemployed by the company. Strong knowledge of theory and concepts relating to thepractice of speech language pathology and the ability to evaluateand treat patients for whom a physician’s order exists. Strong communication (oral and written) and organizationalskills and be CPR certified. Minimum of twelve hours of continuing educationannually.
