GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year.

- The role you’ll contribute:
- The Speech Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist (used interchangeably) provides self-directed, effective evaluation and therapy treatment to patients in accordance with the American Speech and Hearing Association standards and pursuant to the Florida Department of Professional Regulation, Chapter 468.
1125 (8): “Speech-language pathologist means a person who is licensed under this part to practice speech pathology.

Evaluation/Re-Evaluation:
Collection of comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation; Performs consults as indicated. Performs assessments as indicated due to changes in patient’s medical condition that will alter the ST treatment plan previously determined.
Reassessment:
Evaluates progress toward attainment of expected outcomes.
Treatment Plan:
Analyzes the assessment data to determine course of treatment.
Goal Setting:
Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
Planning:
The patient’s plan of care is developed to attain expected outcomes.
Implementation:
Implements the identified plan of care.
- Honors patient’s rights by following privacy guidelines and code of ethics.
Training:
Effectively educate and train patients, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team members when necessary.
- Demonstrates honesty and fairness in all that they do and accepts accountability for their actions. Qualifications
- The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Master’s Graduate of an accredited Speech Therapy program with a specific degree/major in Speech Therapy/Speech Language Pathology.
- BCLS – Basic Life Support American Heart Association.
- Current Florida Speech Therapy license.
