PRN rate $60.50 hourly plus shiftdifferential. Acute care experience required. Administerscomprehensive clinical services to patients; provides testing,analyses and evaluations of seriously ill patients or those havingcomplex medical problems and formulates a treatment plan which isconsistent with the patient’s needs. Assists in supervising staffand students and in developing in-service training programs forcontinuing staff development. Maintains an established inventory ofsupplies; ensures the proper use and maintenance of equipment andmaintains a work area which is free of debris and clutter.

Communicates regularly with members of the patient care team, thepatient, family members and others involved with the patient’scare. Responds to requests for professional information or adviceand refers complex matters to the appropriate staff. Instructs andtrains patient and family regarding pertinent aspects of thepatient’s care. Assesses the patient to provide a diagnosis and toidentify problems. Plans treatment schedules to ensure optimal useof staff and equipment in providing high quality patient services.

Plans, develops and implements a result-oriented treatment planresponsive to the individualized needs of the patient and includesclear, measurable goals. Modifies the treatment plan according tothe patient’s responses. Provides direct patient care; performsspecialized treatments according to the patient’s individualizedplan of care. Collaborates with other members of the patient careteam and uses community resources to plan for the continued care,support and follow-up of the patient after discharge. Followsestablished protocols for documentation specific to theprogram/setting. Accurately records daily charges for servicesrendered. Practices organizational and universal standards forsterile technique and infection control in carrying out dailyresponsibilities including the proper cleaning and sterilization ofwork surfaces, equipment and instruments. Conducts in-serviceprograms, provides other staff with training and serves as aclinical instructor to students. Attends team conferences topromote an interdisciplinary approach to patient care; workscooperatively with other team members to maintain consistency inthe provision of high quality, results oriented services.

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS

A master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Current licensure in Speech-Language Pathology in the state ofGeorgia. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-LanguagePathology issued by the American Speech-Language-HearingAssociation. One year of Speech-Language Pathology experiencepreferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordancewith the American Heart Association required.
