Job Description
Speech and Language Pathologist for the Brockton Public Schools.

Qualifications:

A Massachusetts Licensure for Speech Language and Hearing Disorders
Extensive knowledge in working with students with a variety of language and communication disabilities
Possess specialized skills, experience, and training in programs and interventions that address all areas of communication development.
Experience in data collection, developing specific goals, best instructional practices, evaluation of communication skills, and IEP process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work under the supervision of the Special Education Coordinator of Related Services responsible for supervision of therapy services.
Evaluate students through the IEP process for speech and language services using appropriate standardized and informal assessments.
Complete written evaluation reports according to the standards and timelines of the Brockton Public Schools special education protocols.
Attend special education team meetings and report evaluations, student progress, and supporting data.
Provide direct services in communication development for identified students as required by the IEP.
Develop and implement progress monitoring procedures and collect appropriate data on individual students.
Support individual students according to IEP goals and objectives and consult to IEP Teams as requested.
Assist general educators in the areas of referrals, screenings, recommendations, modeling, coaching, and resources.
Provide professional development trainings to maximize inclusion opportunities for students that promote access to the core curriculum.
Collaborate with the school based educational team to ensure safe and functional activities to assist in the development of individual student communication skills throughout the school day.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director / Assistant Directors of Special Education.
