QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Speech Language Pathologist license from the MA Board of Registration of Speech-Language Pathology and AudiologyMaster’s degree in speech-language pathology from a program accredited by ASHAMassachusetts DESE Educators License for Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders (or acquired within 1 year of employment)Speech Clinical Fellow working toward the above qualifications may be considered

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language PathologyExperience working with students in a school setting with academic, behavioral, and/or emotional challenges, learning or developmental disabilities, or autism preferred.
REPORTS TO
Director of Therapy Services or his/her designeeRESPONSIBILITIES1.Conduct student screenings and comprehensive evaluations related to the students access to the educational environment including interpreting and clearly communicating results and recommendations2.Participate in the IEP/504 process including team meetings3.Design, utilize, and implement intervention plans based on established best practices and documented research-based evidence 4.Intervene in in the least restrictive environment to support student participation and achievements, as appropriate5.Evaluate and modify individual student interventions as necessary to address student needs and access to the educational environment and curriculum6.Report progress related to annual goals and objectives, and make appropriate modifications to interventions as needed7.Implement various models of school-based service delivery such as Response to Intervention (RTI), consultation, group and individual services8.Work effectively with diverse student populations9.Consult with colleagues, school personnel, parents, and students 10.Coordinate with all specialists (OT, PT, Teachers,Behavior, Adaptive PE, Assistive Technology Team) to provide a comprehensive service delivery program for each child.11.Provide training and consultation for staff and families regarding SLP services and interventions12.Provide supervision for speech-language therapy assistants, if applicable13.Maintain accurate, timely documentation of speech-language therapy services 14.Caseload assignment is based on SSEC needs, and may change at any time including location of service delivery (which may include, but is not limited to school, community, and/or home settings).15.Follow direction of program director/coordinator/principal where assigned including procedures and protocols16.Schedule and prioritize assigned caseload17.May require the use of a personal automobile for travel between school sites, home, and clinic visits18.Physically manage and/or lift students when necessary.19.Participate in all required in-service training 20.Follow all policies and procedures as established by the South Shore Educational Collaborative 21.Use de-escalation and physical management procedures as prescribed in SSEC-approved Welle training program as needed and appropriate.22.Maintain confidentiality regarding information for all SSEC staff, students, and their families.23.Perform other duties as assigned by the program director/coordinator.
Mandatory participation in all of the following SSEC-sponsored training to include but not limited to: 1. Successful completion of SSEC-approved Welle training, full and/or recertification annually as appropriate.2. Maintain active CPR/First Aid certification.3. Successful completion of all SSEC-approved threat assessment training.
