Speech Language Pathologist Spaulding Hospital

    Summary
    Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and helping prevent speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders.

    Essential Functions
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior speech pathologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders in patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Provide therapy to patients with various communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Education

  • American Speech Language Hearing Association preferred Experience
    Speech pathology experience 2-3 years required and Acute hospital experience 2-3 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Familiarity with diagnostic assessments for speech-language.
  • Employee must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to incorporate new clinical procedures sufficiently to perform clinical services independently.
  • Ability to perform functions associated with contemporary audiology and speech-language pathology scope of practice.
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
