POSITION OVERVIEW
Speech-Language Pathologist (Full Time) – Multiple Openings, 25-26 SY Portland Public Schools is seeking an innovative ASHA-Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services for students at schools within the Portland Public School District. The SLP will join a passionate, multidisciplinary team of teachers, ed-techs, social workers, occupational therapists and physical therapists.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess all areas of speech and language development, provide direct instruction to students, and consult to team members in a collaborative manner Develop goals & Individualized Education Plans consistent with state/federal laws and regulations, provide case management for students with speech/language disabilities, and implement programs in the least restrictive environment appropriate for the student Implement programs in the least restrictive environment appropriate for the student
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working within the public school environment Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university
CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization (more info). Either or both of the following: Maine State Certification 293 (Speech and Hearing Clinician, K-12) (more info) Maine State Speech Pathologist License (more info) ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
