We have a fantastic opportunity for a Full-Time Speech Language Pathologist .
Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist will diagnose and treat a variety of speech, language, and swallowing disorders in acute, sub-acute, hospital and rehabilitation settings.
Responsibilities:
Safely identifies patients for evaluations and treatments with correct name and Date of Birth (D.OB.). Perform speech language evaluations and develop therapy diagnoses of patient problems. Incorporates knowledge of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems in treatment interventions. Utilizes knowledge of age-specific differences or population characteristics in provision of services. Able to promptly respond to emerging patient needs and concerns in a timely manner. Understands end of life issues related to feeding and able to actively participate with doctors and families in decision making based on swallow functions. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Speech-language Pathology from a New York State registered licensure qualifying program accredited by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), or the equivalent required. Certificate of Clinical Competence required. Minimum of one year of hospital experience following NYS Speech Language Pathologist certification/licensure is required. We offer and excellent salary.
