Description 02202 Speech/Lang Pathologist STRHS-Lawrenceburg Job Description Job Summary Evaluates and treats patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.

Reports to:

Director of Physical Therapy Services FLSA:

Non-Exempt Essential Functions Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition. Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family. Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services. Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel. Nonessential Functions Perform other duties as assigned.

• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.
• Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.
• Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.
• Accepts all call schedule as directed.
• Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code. Organizational Expectations
• Compliance to the STRH – Lawrenceburg Standards of Performance is required.

Qualifications Job Requirements Minimum EducationX Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required X Master’s degree Required Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

X Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
• Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) Certifications may be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Licenses:

Current and active Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Tennessee is required.
