Full Job Description Summary:
The Aide, Speech Record, will assist the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in completing required clerical duties and responsibilities that are non-therapeutic in nature.
DISTRICT EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities:
Assists the SLP to obtain, complete, and maintain required paperwork such as setting up and maintaining speech and language resource folders, updates Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), completes SPT-18 (list of IEP review and re-evaluation dates), prepares packets of forms for annual reviews, re-evaluations, and enrollments, completes monthly Medicaid documentation, and orders any needed test protocols from the Speech Department. Records speech and hearing screening results in health records and checks health folders for vision, hearing, or other screening results, when needed. Copies, sorts, distributes, and files paperwork such as forms, materials, worksheets, IEPs, and other documentation, distributes and files documents (IEPs, progress reports, etc.) in student resource and cumulative folders, and place forms and notes in teacher’s mailboxes. Prepares materials under the direction of the SLP, creates, laminates, and cuts material for therapy activities, assists with designing/making communication boards, decorates bulletin boards, and checks out material from the media center. Requests new targeted rosters from data clerk on a regular basis (bi-weekly or monthly) and uses to ensure speech records are current and that new students/withdrawn students are not missed. Request J-screens and H-screens (student schedules – secondary) from data processor. Sends out folders to other schools in school mail and request folders from other schools. (Keep this information on appropriate logs.) Assists parents with accessing educational resources and assist with helping their children access educational resources. Completes an inventory of supplies, materials, and test forms. Performs any other duties as assigned. Experience:
One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in clerical preferred.
Language Skills:
Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Writes simple correspondence. Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills:
Adds and subtracts two digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s. Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Applies understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deals with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office and the district data system.

Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing.
Lifting Demands:
Up to 55 pounds.
Reaching Activities:
Both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead.
