Position Summary:
The Imaging Assistant provides essential support to the Transport team by facilitating the safe and timely movement of patients to and from the Imaging department. This role ensures proper preparation of imaging rooms and equipment, assists with patient positioning as needed, and maintains clear communication with clinical staff to support workflow efficiency. The assistant also upholds infection control and patient safety standards while delivering compassionate, responsive service.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday; 6:00am to 2:30pm Or Monday through Friday; 2:00pm/4:00pm to 10:30pm/12:30pm Or Wednesday through Saturday; 8:00pm to 6:30am
Responsibilities:
Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. Receives outpatients to the Imaging Department, ensures the validity of prescriptions, inputs HIS system orders, and assures comfort during the wait time. Imports and exports images as needed according to OH guidelines. Opens, reads, and burns images to a CD for patient or physician release. Performs data integrity and validation of transferred/copied images to ensure no data loss has occurred. Learns and maintains proficiency in all existing and new image and data retrieval and distribution medians such as HIS, PACS, CR and Image Workstations. Maintains thorough knowledge of policies, system problem resolution techniques, and system downtime processes. Understands departments and hospital systems and operations, how they correlate and interface to other services and systems provided by OH and other facilities, and the impact on our customers. Communicates effectively, openly, and encourages conflict resolution within the team. Demonstrates a positive attitude, professional appearance, and demeanor, and communicates effectively with the customer to meet and exceed customer satisfaction. Understands HIPAA regulations and applies these concepts as they relate to the exchange of confidential information. Assumes the role of a team leader as necessary to ensure continuous workflow and team cohesiveness. May be required to participate in training sessions and/or workshops related to technology changes and/or new innovations. May be responsible for training others on these advancements. Adheres to Orlando Health’s mission statement and strategic imperatives. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, department guidelines and education requirements. Qualifications:
Education/Training High school graduate or equivalent. Licensure/Certification None. Experience Two (2) years of clerical or customer service experience.
