Position Summary Under general direction from the Director of Surgical Services, the Sterile Processing Manager p rovides daily oversight of CSS operations to ensure that all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed and tracked in a high quality, timely and safe manner. Collaboratively with peri-operative director manages human resources to include staffing, scheduling payroll and associate relations and physician relations; tissue management and tracking; information systems administration; inventory management; vendor management; and budget equipment and labor expenses. The Sterile Processing Manager assumes 24-hour accountability for the management of the Sterile Processing Department, coordinating care, processing and provision of surgical instrumentation, surgical supplies and certain house supplies throughout the hospital system while complying with all hospital and regulatory agency policies, procedures and protocols in a high quality and cost effective manner. Collaborates with appropriate others in the short and long range planning for the department, and/or organization. Demonstrates problem solving. Ability to make an implement decisions.
