Sterile Services Technician 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 5353 Reynolds Street, Savannah, GA 31405 Position Summary The Sterile Processing Tech, under the indirect supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager and Lead Tech(s), provides the duties of Sterile Processing. These duties include, but are not limited to, the decontamination of instruments, assembly of trays; the process of sterilizing instruments and items for use by ancillary departments; the preparation of case carts for scheduled and emergency cases; cleaning of the department. - Required Core Job Functions All products that are delivered to decontamination are handled and processed according to the Manufacturer’s Instructions for Use (IFU) in a timely and respectful manner. All cannulations are brushed and flushed
- no exceptions.
Every item or tray being processed is inspected and handled carefully per manufacture’s Instructions For Use (IFU). Every product processed requires a chemical indicator as well as clear and concise labeling. All assembled products are handled with the upmost care and respect. All products must be sterilized according to the manufacturer’s Instructions For Use (IFU). Sterilization records are maintained and documented in a timely manner to include: documenting biologicals, reading print receipts, scanning all documentation and reporting to management any failures or concerns. All case carts are picked and assembled carefully and timely according to the required product listed on the surgeons preference cards. All missing product from preference cards are to be identified and communicated to leadership. All trays are scanned to the case cart for tracking and visibility. All supplies used within the department are used responsibly and respectfully. Supplies are not being wasted or ruined by incorrect use. All co-workers are responsible for cleaning the sterile processing department, locker room and admin offices. All co-workers are expected to support and contribute to the culture and mission of our organization.
