RESPONSIBLE FOR
Facilitate a close working relationship between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room. Major focus will be anticipating the needs and bridging the gap to ensure surgeon satisfaction, case completion, interdepartmental communication, and patient quality care and safety by utilizing problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
Completion of an accredited sterile processing or surgical technology course. Online programs that do not offer hands on instruction or experience will not be accepted.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Three years collective experience in the Peri-Operative environment to include both Sterile Processing and the Operating Room.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW
Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician from one of the two certification boards (IAHCSMM or CSPD) within one year of hire.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of surgical procedures and competency for medical supplies and instrumentation necessary to perform these procedures preferred. Three years case cart knowledge and experience. Experience with Instrument Management Tracking systems, preferably Microsystems (SPM). Knowledge of OR routines, infection control principles and regulatory practices.
