Job Description:

Shift 7am-330pm This Sterile Processing Technician II will beresponsible for:

• Following departmental policies/procedures andtransporting carts of instrumentation or medical materials to andfrom designated areas within the surgical suites or SPD. RestockingOR surgical core with surgical instrumentation sterilized in SPDfollowing departmental policies/procedures and instructions
• Receiving, sorting, cleaning and decontaminating soiled reusableinstruments, equipment and materials following manufacturer’sinstructions. Manually recording items/materials received indepartment logs. Loading, operating, and emptying cleaning anddecontamination equipment such as automatic washers, endoscopereprocessors, cart washer and pasteurizers
• Inspecting, preparingand sterilizing surgical instruments and other materials.

Assembling trays and packets of instruments, medical supplies forsurgical procedures according to standardized content lists andmanufacturers guidelines. Loading and operating sterilizers,programming settings and monitors temperature and other criticalreadings during run cycle

• Answering departmental telephones andforwarding calls as needed. Responding to requests for routinefactual information, referring more complex inquiries to chargeperson/supervisor
• Responding to customer requests and resolvingproblems as needed To qualify, you must have:
• Certification ofSterile/Central Processing is required
• A high school degree orGED equivalent is required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience withinSterile Processing is strongly preferred
• A strong knowledge ofinstrumentation and power surgical instruments
• Strong customerservice and communication skills to develop working relationshipswith staff
• Strong problem solving skills
• The ability to workindependently and as a team player
• Flexibility and thewillingness to change assignments due to department needs This is afull time 7a-3:30p position.
