Sterile Processing Tech II (Evenings) Position Available In Suffolk, Massachusetts

Job Description:

• We are currently offering a $7,500 sign on bonus for full timehires.
• This Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for
• Following departmental policies/procedures and transporting cartsof instrumentation or medical materials to and from designatedareas within the surgical suites or SPD. Restocking OR surgicalcore with surgical instrumentation sterilized in SPD followingdepartmental policies/procedures and instructions
• Receiving,sorting, cleaning and decontaminating soiled reusable instruments,equipment and materials following manufacturer’s instructions.

Manually recording items/materials received in department logs.

Loading, operating, and emptying cleaning and decontaminationequipment such as automatic washers, endoscope reprocessors, cartwasher and pasteurizers

• Inspecting, preparing and sterilizingsurgical instruments and other materials. Assembling trays andpackets of instruments, medical supplies for surgical proceduresaccording to standardized content lists and manufacturersguidelines. Loading and operating sterilizers, programming settingsand monitors temperature and other critical readings during runcycle
• Answering departmental telephones and forwarding calls asneeded. Responding to requests for routine factual information,referring more complex inquiries to charge person/supervisor
• Responding to customer requests and resolving problems as needed Toqualify, you must have:
• Certification of Sterile/CentralProcessing
• A high school degree or GED equivalent is required
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience within Sterile Processing isstrongly preferred
• A strong knowledge of instrumentation andpower surgical instruments
• Strong customer service andcommunication skills to develop working relationships with staff
• Strong problem solving skills
• The ability to work independentlyand as a team player
