Evening and Overnight shifts This Sterile Processing TechnicianIII will be responsible for:
- Receiving, sorting, cleaning anddecontaminating soiled reusable instruments, equipment andmaterials following manufacturer’s instructions. Manually recordingitems/materials received in department logs. Loading, operating,and emptying cleaning and decontamination equipment such asautomatic washers, endoscope reprocessors, cart washer andpasteurizers
- Inspecting, preparing and sterilizing surgicalinstruments and other materials. Assembling trays and packets ofinstruments, medical supplies for surgical procedures according tostandardized content lists and manufacturers guidelines. Loadingand operating sterilizers, programming settings and monitorstemperature and other critical readings during run cycle
- May beasked to assume responsibility for leadership in the department inthe absence of and/or in conjunction with CPD Manager. Plans,organizes and oversees daily operations. Monitoring work flow andprioritizing work assignments to meet established schedules andclinical requirements. Responding to customer requests andresolving problems as needed
- May be assigned the charge role inthe department.
Managing the department work environment perestablished policy and procedures. Insuring safety of all personnelon duty. Prioritizing work production based on changing needs.
Assessing, planning and implementing shift activities.
Communicating and collaborating with shift personnel, departmentmanagers, OR staff and other personnel. Ensuring all requireddocumentation is completed and accurate. Using all availableresources to assist with problem solving and decision making.
Trouble shooting and problem solvin To qualify, you must have:
- CRCST and CER (or must obtain CER within one year of being hired)
- A high school degree or GED equivalent is required
- A minimum ofthree years experience in Sterile Processing/ Central Processing isrequired
- Previous experience with Endoscopes is required
- Astrong knowledge of instrumentation and power surgical instruments
- Strong customer service and communication skills to developworking relationships with staff
- Strong troubleshooting andproblem solving skills
- The ability to work independently and as ateam player
