Sterile Processing Technician I Massachusetts General Hospital United States, Massachusetts, Boston 90 Blossom Street (Show on map) Jun 10, 2025
Responsible for performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance established procedures, infection control standards, industry standards, recommended practices on sterilization and regulatory requirements. Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities) Processes specialty and general instruments.
Resets instrument sets without error.
Decontaminates instruments and equipment according to procedure.
Maintain Central Sterile Department stock levels.
Prepares and assembles surgical tray and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing.
Communicates instrument repair needs to supervisor.
Education:
High School Diploma required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No. Licenses/Certifications Certified Registered Central Service Technician [CRCST]
- Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred Work Experience 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of case cart assembly.
Familiarity with the regulatory standards of materials management.
