JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the sterile processing supervisor, the technician is responsible for performing the following duties related to the basic function of the department: follow hospital policies and procedures, properly cleans and prepares instrumentation for sterilization, transportation of soiled and sterile instruments to the operating room area, maintains competency in sterile processing processes, maintain good communication with co-workers and supervisor. Other duties as assigned by the SPD Supervisor, charge technician and/or Director.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience:

BLS is mandatory within three months CSPDT (certified sterile processing department technician) is encouraged within 18 months of hire.
