Summary:

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and storing items in a sterile environment as well as ordering supplies, maintaining par levels, and stocking for the department.

Responsibilities:

+ Decontaminates, disinfects, and thoroughly cleans supplies, instruments, and equipment used with patients. + Assembles supplies, instruments, basin sets, used in a variety of clinical settings in accordance with policy/procedures. Wraps and prepares all items for sterilization with appropriate labeling. Uses appropriate sterilization method based on manufacture’s guidelines. Ensure parameters of sterilization are met. + Ensures code blue carts are stocked and ready for use as well other hospital equipment is cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines. Pulls case carts with all available supplies and instrumentation to ensure patient needs are met. Manages supplies within the department in order to provide safe and efficient care.
