Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team in Morristown, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for decontaminating, preparing, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments and patient care equipment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining patient safety and ensuring equipment readiness in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform decontamination, preparation, and packaging of surgical instruments and patient care equipment Operate sterilization equipment in accordance with established protocols Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance Ensure proper use of packaging materials and wrapping techniques for all instrument sets and trays Prepare case carts accurately based on surgical needs Follow infection control and safety procedures Stand for extended periods and perform heavy lifting and pushing (e.g., sterilization carts and instrument trays)
Skills and Qualifications:
Basic computer skills; experience with instrument tracking systems such as ABACUS or Microsystem is preferred General knowledge of surgical instruments and patient care equipment functionality and maintenance Ability to operate sterilizers competently Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, and verbal comprehension) Ability to work well in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
Required Certifications:
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or
CBSPD Certification Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent•
