Position Summary:

ACI Health is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical and clinical teams by ensuring all surgical instruments and medical equipment are cleaned, assembled, sterilized, and distributed according to strict safety standards. This is a vital role within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment focused on patient safety and surgical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Perform decontamination, washing, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and trays ✔ Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (steam autoclaves, Steris, and Sterrad systems) ✔ Assemble both simple and complex surgical sets with accuracy ✔ Adhere strictly to infection control and aseptic technique protocols ✔ Conduct quality checks to ensure instrument functionality and sterility ✔ Maintain accurate sterilization and decontamination records ✔ Respond promptly to urgent requests from OR and clinical staff ✔ Collaborate with perioperative teams for efficient equipment turnover ✔ Uphold safety, compliance, and departmental standards at all times

Qualifications:

Certification Required:

Must hold a nationally accredited Central Service Technician certification (CRCST preferred)

OR Experience Exception:

Provide documented evidence of at least one (1) year of sterile processing employment prior to January 1, 2015 (per NYS law) Must pass a pre-employment health clearance and background check Strong knowledge of sterilization methods, aseptic techniques, and infection control Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a high-pressure clinical setting Join ACI Health and help ensure surgical excellence by supporting safe and sterile procedures.
