Description:

Qualifications:

Must have successfully completed a nationally accredited central service technician exam and certifiednas a Central Service Teclmician OR evidence of employment as a Central Service Technician in anhealthcare facility for a period of one 1 year. Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance.n

Duties:

Responsible for effective and safe decontamination disinfection washing assembly and sterilization ofninstruments and trays used for procedures in the Operating Room and other clinical areas of Upstate.nUses principles of aseptic technique performance of quality check with accuracy and reliability. Overseenand operate equipment or deaning and disinfecting of surgical equipment. Oversee and participate innthe assembly of complex as well as simple surgical sets. Operate equipment for the sterilization ofncomplex and simple surgical sets using steam under pressure Steris and Sterrad. Record the monitornof sterilization and decontamination of equipment. Respond to urgent and emergent requests fromnclinical personnel.
