Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sterilization, and proper functioning of medical instruments and equipment. This role is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and infection control within healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Instrument Sterilization:
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment using autoclaves and other sterilization methods.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of sterilized items and manage inventory to ensure availability of necessary instruments.
Quality Control:
Inspect instruments for damage and ensure they are in proper working condition before sterilization.
Compliance:
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards related to sterile processing.
Documentation:
