Koslin & Kahn Oral and Facial Surgery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Surgical Assistant to join our team in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Our practice is built on a simple but powerful belief: the patient always comes first. This commitment shapes every aspect of our work and culture. We’re looking for a candidate who is naturally driven to provide excellent care and support in a clinical setting. The ideal Surgical Assistant is detail-oriented, adaptable, and passionate about patient comfort and safety. Key Responsibilities Travel between our three locations in Hoover, Jasper, and Clanton (paid travel time). Assist the Oral Surgeon during a variety of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures. Prepare treatment rooms according to established protocols and safety standards. Take high-quality, diagnostic dental x-rays. Accurately review and record patient health histories. Maintain strict infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and preparing equipment. Help patients feel at ease before, during, and after surgical procedures. Provide clear post-operative instructions and oral care guidance. Record vital signs and surgical notes during procedures and consultations. Perform administrative tasks, including computer-based documentation. Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient trust at all times.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in dental and/or oral surgery assisting (preferred). Willingness to travel to all three Koslin & Kahn practice locations. Proficient with computers and digital record systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Consistently professional appearance and demeanor. Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented. High level of integrity and commitment to patient care. High school diploma or equivalent. Eagerness to grow, learn, and be an active member of a collaborative team.
