The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring a smooth workflow in the operating room. This position requires a strong understanding of medical and dental terminology, as well as proficiency in various surgical assisting tasks. The Surgical Assistant will work closely with surgeons, dental professionals, and other healthcare staff to provide exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Assist the surgical team during procedures by preparing instruments and equipment. Ensure the operating room is sterile and organized before, during, and after surgeries. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records. Monitor patients’ vital signs throughout the surgical process. Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate with team members. Operate medical imaging equipment as needed for diagnostic purposes. Assist with prosthodontics procedures, including the use of 3D scanners. Provide support in dental assisting tasks when necessary. Collaborate with dental receptionists to manage patient schedules and appointments. Requirements Proficiency in dental and medical terminology is essential. Experience in prosthodontics or related fields is preferred. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment. Strong skills in medical documentation practices. Knowledge of Dentrix software is a plus. Ability to take and monitor vital signs accurately. Experience with 3D scanning technology is advantageous. Previous experience as a dental assistant or receptionist is beneficial but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are required.
