A Full-Time Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant with a minimum of 5 years of experience, specifically working in cataract surgery. The applicant should be reliable and capable of being a team leader, with good communication skills and an enjoyment of working closely with others. They should be confident and independent in their tasks, such as IOL loading, phaco machine set-up, and anterior vitrectomy set-up. Knowledge of the Alcon Centurion phaco machine is advantageous. Professionalism and a strong desire to be part of a high-performance team at a Center of Excellence are a must. Prerequisites 5+ years of experience in cataract surgery required High School Diploma or equivalent Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred Responsibilities Intraocular lens loading Phaco machine set-up Anterior vitrectomy set-up Proper sterilization techniques May assist in providing training to other ophthalmic personnel as assigned Perform other tasks as required Travel to all surgical centers in Orlando, Lake Mary and Clermont Performance Requirements Strong ophthalmic knowledge Ability to speak clearly and concisely Strict adherence to sterile field protocols Exceptional communication skills Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and employees Ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and possess problem-solving skills Professional communication with internal and external contacts and patients Attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment is essential
