Surgery Coordinator Position Summary:
Vanguard Plastic Surgery is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our plastic surgery practice in Boynton Beach. The ideal candidate will provide clinical support during patient visits, assist with procedures, and coordinate surgical scheduling and logistics to ensure seamless patient care and operational efficiency. This is a new sister facility to our Fort Lauderdale Office.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform clinical tasks such as triaging patients, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting during consultations and wound care procedures. Assist plastic surgeons with surgical prep and post-operative care instructions. Coordinate all aspects of surgical scheduling, including pre-operative assessments, obtaining necessary consents, and liaising with patients and surgical facilities. Ensure all patient documentation, including medical histories and consent forms, are accurately completed and maintained. Educate patients on pre-and post-operative care, treatment plans, and expectations. Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of clinical instruments and equipment. Manage patient flow, appointment scheduling, and follow-up visits. Collaborate with team members to optimize practice operations and patient experience.
Qualifications:
2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant (Certified Medical Assistant preferred) Prior experience in plastic surgery or surgical setting is highly desirable. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to coordinate schedules efficiently and handle multiple priorities. Compassionate, professional, and attentive to patient needs.
