$120,000 – $140,000 Plus Potential Sign-On Bonus Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Surgical Services to join our leadership team in Tarpon Springs, FL. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a high-performing OR team, foster physician and staff collaboration, and ensure exceptional patient care in a dynamic surgical environment. The ADSS will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, staff management, and performance improvement of the operating room department. Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services, this role requires expertise in perioperative nursing, operational leadership, and compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Provide 24/7 management and oversight of OR operations, staffing, and patient care delivery. Ensure high standards for clinical quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. Manage the recruitment, training, development, and evaluation of OR nursing staff. Foster a collaborative environment with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams. Maintain budgetary responsibility for the OR, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and ensure OR utilization meets service line needs. Drive performance improvement initiatives, focusing on compliance with hospital policies, state, and federal regulations. Ensure OR staff are compliant with Joint Commission, OSHA, and CMS standards. Lead efforts to improve surgical outcomes, throughput, and patient flow. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree (MSN or related) preferred. Current RN license in the state of Florida or eligibility to obtain one. BLS and ACLS certifications required. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in perioperative nursing. At least 2 years of leadership experience in an OR setting. Strong knowledge of OR operations, surgical workflows, and best practices. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and drive process improvements.
