Min $15.45 Mid $17.20 Position Summary Perioperative Support Staff assist the teams in preparing rooms for surgical cases, cleaning rooms in-between patients (turnover), and running errands for the team (blood bank/lab, etc). Perioperative Support Staff will assist in keeping the OR environment clean and neat, free from dust and debris. Perioperative Support Staff assist the RNs with positioning, surgical prep of the patient (i.e. holding an extremity while the RN scrubs the site), pulling surgical cases from the materials area, gathering instruments, and removing trash/scrubs from the department. Perioperative Support Staff assist family members when needed, transport patients, and maintain Joint Commission readiness and other duties as required. Knows and adheres to organizational and department policies and procedures. Std Wk Duties 4223A Maintains patient safety during transfer of patient (OR Bed to/from Stretcher). Maintains departmental cleanliness and organization. Enhances patient outcomes by providing a clean environment in the operating room for each patient. Follows AORN guidelines during room turnover. Follows aseptic technique when gowning and gloving (to assist RN). Assists RN and Charge Rn with additional duties as required, such as stocking, case pulling and put aways. Maintains safety protocols when setting up different OR Beds (i.e., Ortho fracture tables, hanna table, Jackson table, etc.) Demonstrates and understands proper protocol to prepare an OR suite for a surgical case and/or emergency procedure. Demonstrates and understands the proper protocol to close a room or break down a case.
