  • The role you’ll contribute:
  • The Lead Surgical Facilitator is responsible for assisting in the flow of daily operations.

The Lead Surgical Facilitator duties will focus on supporting operating room efficiencies- on time starts, turnover times, cleanliness and organization of the OR environment, overseeing the assignments of surgical assistants within the department, managing and maintaining OR supplies, facilitating timely case setups and assisting the Clinical Lead Supervisor and OR Manager with tasks to ensure needs of department are met.

  • Patient and Staff Safety:
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
  • Observes safety precautions at all time, utilizing protective eye wear, gloves and proper body mechanics
  • Assist in the safe transport of patients to and from the OR
  • Communicates all potential and actual safety issues to the
Clinical Nurse Supervisor or Operating Room Manager Environment of Care:
  • Ensures temperature and humidity is monitored and recorded for each suite
  • Maintains surgical supplies as designated by surgical leadership
  • Monitor, order and stock linen on the linen cart in the sub sterile each day
  • Inspect and supply needed CO2, Nitrogen, and O2 tanks for the surgical suites
  • Assists in timely cleaning of rooms between procedures and ensures supplies are restocked when necessary and organize effectively for end of case clean up
Daily Operations:
  • Assist team members in sterilizing instruments, cleaning equipment and operating room suites
  • Orients new surgical assistants to the operating room and provides feedback to ensure learning goals met
  • Demonstrates competency to effectively facilitate on starts and rapid turns overs in the OR
  • Seeks solutions to resolve unexpected problems that arise in the course of their work and make practical routine decisions
  • Communicates with Clinical Lead Supervisor and Operating Room Manager throughout day regarding department needs
  • Assist OR leadership to achieve endoscopy reprocessing regulatory standards. Qualifications
