SNHMC has nineoperating room suites, 25 pre-op/PACU bays, and a sterileprocessing department. Hours are flexible, with 8

• 10• and12-hour day shifts available.

The OR has a dedicated call teamSunday through Thursday nights beginning at 7PM, making OR callminimal. Services range from elective and non-elective procedures,including neurological, orthopedic, gynecological, urological,bariatric, colorectal, vascular, ENT, general, breast, andplastics. Surgical services are growing and evolving, utilizing thelatest technology for the wide variety of procedures we perform.

Job:

As amember of the Surgical Services team, the Surgical Technologistidentifies and prepares sterile instrumentation and equipment forsurgical procedures. This role assists the surgical team with theverification process, intra-operative procedures, and case closureprotocol. In given circumstances that may arise must respondappropriately to emergency situations. The Surgical Technologistworks under the direction of the Circulator and is accountable tothe RN Unit Director.

What You’ll Do:

• Identify and preparesterile instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgical team with verification process.
• Assist surgicalteam with intra-operative procedures and with closure procedures.
• Review the surgical booking and matches procedures to preferencecards.
• Accurately uses surgical preference cards for selection ofinstrumentation.
• Inspect instruments for sterility, safety andfunction.
• Evaluate surroundings to maintain sterile field.

WhoYou Are:

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist programrequired.
• Tech in Surgery (TS-C) or Certified SurgicalTechnologist (CST) required.
• Current BLS certification required
• New Hampshire Medical Technologist registration is required(unless other current NH state license is held).
• Ability tocomplete the following competencies:
• Within 30 days:

• Maintenance of sterile field
• Surgical briefings andtime-outs
• Instrument safe handling
• Surgical counts
