Job Summary/Purpose:

Under the direction and supervision of licensed personnel, the Operating Room Assistant assists in providing direct patient care and tasks required for daily unit functions.

Minimum Training and Education:

High school diploma or equivalency (GED) with at least six months of experience working in a hospital setting. Completion of a recognized allied health h course or six months patient care experience in a health care setting preferred. May require working irregular hours, rotating shifts and weekends.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:

Basic Life Support (BLS) within the first two weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
