Summary:
The Operating Room Attendant is responsible for the transport ofpre-operative and post-operative patients, assisting withpositioning of surgical patients, cleaning operating rooms betweensurgeries, maintaining equipment and storerooms, obtaining supplycarts and special-order items, and assist with direct patient careunder the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities:
+ Transports patients, specimens, blood, and blood products betweenclinical areas. Assistwith positioning and holding limbs forsurgical site prep. Completes pre-op skin prep as outlined inphysician orders. + Obtains case needs for each operating room by positioningequipment, aids, and supplies. Assists with all aspects of room setup and cleaning. + Performs delegated duties as a member of the surgical team underthe supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Assists with other patientcare activities as assigned by circulator. + Maintains safe environment for patient care by effectivelycompleting in between case cleaning for Operating Room.
Demonstrates knowledge of cleaning agents and their intendeduse. + Cleans and prepares operating room in between cases. Promotes asafe, clean and secure hospital environment for all, including theapplication of standard precautions and principles of infectioncontrol. + Ensures surgical department/hallways and scrub sinks are cleanand free of clutter or debris. Stocks assigned supplies andequipment as needed.

Required + High School diploma or equivalent + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred + Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant course + Experience working in a surgical setting
