The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures by ensuring a sterile environment, assisting surgeons, and providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations within an operating room (OR) or ambulatory surgery center setting. Responsibilities Assist surgeon during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols throughout the surgical process. Scribe Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring they are properly positioned and comfortable. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow in the operating room. Conduct post-operative care tasks as directed, including patient education on recovery protocols. Demonstrate knowledge of medical-surgical procedures and assist in various surgical specialties as needed. Participate in maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring all are ready for upcoming surgeries. Requirements Strong knowledge of anatomy and basic life support (BLS) principles. Familiarity with infection control practices and protocols in a surgical environment. Experience working in pediatric intensive care units (PICU) or intensive care units (ICU) is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in high-pressure situations. Certification as a Surgical Assistant or relevant training is highly desirable.
