They prepare surgical equipment and helpsurgical assists and surgeons before, during, and after a surgicalprocedure. Some on-the-job responsibilities may include, but arenot limited to: coordinating with multidisciplinary facility teamto assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans,maintaining accurate, detailed reports and records, and providingindividualized, non-judgemental, non-discriminatory care to allpatients, families, and staff.

To apply as a surgical technologistwith Nomad, you must have an active National Board of SurgicalTechnology and Surgical Assisting- or National Center forCompetency Testing-issued certification or active first assistantcertification from NBSTSA, NCCSA or ABSA, as well as evidence of atleast one year of experience as a Adult Cardiothoracic surgicaltech or first assistant, and evidence of one year of experiencewithin your specialty/modality within the past three years. If youare not certified, you must have at least 10 years of surgical techexperience, but it is ultimately up to each facility whether or notthey accept non-certified surgical techs. In addition, you musthave graduated from an accredited school within your discipline,and score 80% or higher on all Nomad Health competency exams.
