Facility in Largo, FL Job DetailsFusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologistfor a 13 week travel assignment in Largo, FL. RequiredQualifications:

• One year of recent experience as a Surgical Tech
• Valid state license/certification or registration in compliancewith state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)or equivalent certification
• Other certifications and licenses maybe required for this position

Summary:

Surgical Technologistsfacilitate the safe and effective execution of surgical proceduresunder the supervision of the surgeon. They are responsible forpreparing the operating room, maintaining sterile environments,ensuring equipment functionality, and anticipating the needs of thesurgical team to maximize patient safety and procedural efficiency.

Essential Work Functions:

• Prepares the operating room byarranging instruments, supplies, and equipment to ensure readinessfor surgical procedures
• Handle specimens with precision and careto maintain diagnostic integrity and follow institutional protocols
• Verifies the availability of surgical supplies, checking machinesand equipment for proper functioning prior to surgery
• Assist withpatient transfer to and from surgery as required
• Anticipates theneeds of the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, andsupplies during procedures
• Provides and coordinates patient carewith other health team members
• Decontaminates and assists in thesterilization of instruments, surfaces, and other supplies andequipment
• Ensures instruments, gowns, drapes, surfaces, and othersupplies meet infection control standards
• Adhere to hospitalsafety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatorystandards
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope ofpractice

Required Essential Skills:

• Critical thinking, serviceexcellence and good interpersonal communication skills
• Theability to read, write, & communicate in the English language isrequired
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, followverbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

• Remain in a stationary position, move about, moveequipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending
• InterpersonalSkills
• To work effectively with a variety of personnel(professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude andprofessionalism
• Technical/Motor Skills
• Ability to grasp, finemanipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assistingwith procedures and/or using department equipment.
• MentalRequirements
• Must be able to cope with frequent contact with thegeneral public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure.

Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as wellas working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able tocontend with irregular activity schedules occasionally andcontinuous concentration to detail
