• 301 MemorialMedical Pkwy, Daytona Beach, FL 32117 /n /n/n /n The role you’llcontribute: /n /n/n /n The surgical technologist activelyparticipates in the preparation and management of supplyinventories, surgical equipment, operating room suite readiness andclinical/technical assistance as directed while performingoperative and invasive procedures.

This position requires knowledgeof surgical instrumentation, the ability to prepare and or assemblecomplex mechanical devices, sequential planning, and knowledge offundamental anatomy, strong anticipatory skills and dexterity. Thisposition is also responsible to keep abreast of new products,procedures and physician techniques. The surgical technologistsupports Surgical and GI services to provide an effective and safepatient/staff environment. All activities associated with the roleof the surgical technologist are under the direct supervision ofthe perioperative registered nurse and operating surgeon /n /n/n /nThe value you’ll bring to the team: /n /n/n /n/n /n

• Worksindependently or in collaboration with other staff as directed toensure required supplies, instruments, positioning devices andequipment is available for all assigned procedures. /n /n
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of the principles of aseptictechnique in accordance with AORN recommended standards /n /n
• Demonstrates flexibility and understanding of assigned work duties.

Adapts to changes in assigns duties by prioritizing appropriately.

Proactively assists others with minimal supervision /n /n

• Understands the preoperative diagnosis, common complications andoperative pathology relating to specific surgical procedures. /n /n
• Utilizes surgeon’s preference cards to appropriately execute aplan of care during the surgical procedure. /n /n
• Selects andprepares necessary supplies and equipment. /n /n/n /n/n /nQualifications /n /n The expertise and experiences you’ll need tosucceed: /n /n/n /n/n /n
• Must be proficient in the Englishlanguage /n /n
• High school graduate or equivalent /n /n
• Successful completion of an accredited school for SurgicalTechnology required /n /n
