$27.6K – $34.1K a year 2 days ago Qualifications Customer service BLS Certification High school diploma or GED Patient care Perioperative care Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description The Case Tech assists in the preparation of the surgical room prior to procedures, transporting patients to specific operating areas as needed, and in maintaining an adequate supply of sterilized equipment, instruments and supplies necessary during surgical procedures. May assist with surgical procedures. Relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks. Works under close supervision. Relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks.

TECHNICAL TASKS

Inspects the OR for cleanliness, completeness, proper arrangement of furniture and equipment as needed. Obtains and returns additional equipment and supplies as directed by RN Accountability for competence creating maintaining a sterile field Locates various trauma. emergency or specialty care supplies, equipment and instrumentation carts Assists in completion of postmortem patient care and delivers expired patient to established area Collects and delivers specimens to appropriate area according to hospital procedure Performs surgical preps according to physician order and hospital procedure Knows patient positioning on the OR bed and practices safety standards when handling patients

CRITICAL THINKING

Ability to function in emergency cases by locating trauma, emergency or specialty case supplies, equipment and instrument carts. Develops activity priorities appropriately Anticipates and carries out protective techniques for safety to patients, coworkers and self. Plans time to respond accordingly within a minimum amount of time to minimize delays and without interference to the quality of care to the patient. Is familiar with entire perioperative area and able to function in all areas. Other duties Consistently performs 12 organizational Service Standards focused on Values, Service and Quality.
