Job Summary and Qualifications The role of the Surgical technologist is to assist the OR team in the care of patients, equipment and supplies. The surgical technologist in the first scrub role handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. The Surgical Technologist has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon and has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

What qualifications you will need:

Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT) preferred CORT preferred American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS required One year prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided is preferred Research Medical Center is a 585+ bed hospital.
