RESPONSIBILITIES CME
maintenance: Must maintain at least 15 hours of ContinuingMedical Education (CME) per year Supply check & sterilization: Ensure all supplies,instrumentation and equipment are available and sterilized forsurgical procedures and proper operation
Orientation:
Assist in guiding medical/nursing students andtechnicians to the unit Draping & maintenance: Assist with draping procedures anddemonstrates vigilance in maintaining overall sterility in theoperation room Unit development: Help identify goals and objectives of theunit
REQUIRED QUALIFCATIONS
Completed a military surgical technology program

Provides evidence he or she wasemployed as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for acumulative period of one year, occurring between 12/31/10
- 12/31/14.
- OR•Graduated from a Commission of Accreditation of Allied HealthEducation Programs (CAAHEP•or Accrediting Bureau of HealthEducation Schools (ABHES•accredited program with a SurgicalTechnology major AND holds and maintains Certified SurgicalTechnologist certification from National Board of SurgicalTechnology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)within 12 months ofgraduation.
