FUNCTIONS

Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to register andpre-register Obstetric patients and process patientinformation. Uses computer proficiently. Communicates effectively and professionally with internal andexternal customers. Maintains integrity of physical environment and equipment. Pursues opportunities to enhance personal and professionalgrowth. Scrubs C-sections and demonstrates knowledge of surgicalinstrumentation. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to perform infant testingand tasks as directed by the Registered Nurse.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of medical terminology required. Basic computer knowledge required. Must have customer service abilities including effectivelistening skills. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing,bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patientsand/or equipment up to 50 pounds

EDUCATION

Successful completion of Surgical Tech Course is required orgrandfathered in by the state.

LICENSURE

BLS within 90 days of employment Surgical Technician license required Must be registered with the State of

VA EXPERIENCE

Previous surgical tech experience preferred. 1-2 years scrub or hospital experience preferred.
