Overview:
PRN SUPER SURG TECH POSITION OPEN IN OUR CHARLOTTEMARKET NATIONAL CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
The Surgical Technologistworks under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse tofacilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgicalprocedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe,that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedureis conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
Surgical technologists possess expertise in the theory andapplication of sterile and aseptic technique and combine theknowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementationtools and technologies to facilitate a physician’s performance ofinvasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Qualifications:
Education :
High School Diploma or GED required.
Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program orMilitary Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). Forincumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School ofSurgical Technology or have certification please see additionalskills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not beaccepted.
Experience:
Two years of revious Surgical Technologistexperience, required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
CurrentSurgical Tech Certification through NBSTSA, required.
AdditionalSkills Required:
New graduates must obtain certification within12months of hire. Failure to do so will result in termination ofemployment. Ability to successfully complete generic anddepartment-specific skill validation and competency testing.
Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills,verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonalrelationship skills, and time management skills.
