Travel As anoperating room tech (ORT), you’ll help with surgical operationsbefore, during and/or after the procedure. Working in the operatingroom of a hospital or outpatient surgery center, you may haveduties that include prepping the OR, surgical tools, and equipment,helping nurses and surgeons scrub in, keeping up with equipmentduring surgery, maintaining sterile conditions, assisting withtools during surgery, cleaning the OR after surgery, andtransporting patients to and from surgery. You’ll play a criticalrole in preventing illness, providing moral support, promotinghealth and wellness, and educating patients and families.
