Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated SurgicalTechnologist (Surg Tech) to join our surgical team. As a key memberof the operating room team, the Surg Tech will assist in providingoptimal patient care during surgeries by preparing and maintainingthe sterile field, assisting surgeons, and ensuring that allsurgical instruments and equipment are ready for use. This rolerequires a strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability tothrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the operating room before surgeries by ensuring allnecessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile andready for use. Assist the surgical team by passing instruments andsupplies to the surgeon during procedures, maintaining a sterilefield throughout the operation. Prepare patients for surgery byassisting with positioning, draping, and prepping the surgicalsite. Ensure that all instruments are accounted for before, during,and after the surgery to avoid retained surgical items. Assist insetting up and breaking down the operating room, ensuring allequipment is cleaned and properly stored after the procedure.
Monitor and maintain the sterile field to prevent contamination.
Communicate effectively with the surgical team to anticipate needsduring surgery and ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.
Assist with handling specimens, labeling, and preparing them fortransport to the laboratory when necessary. Maintain a detailedknowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures.
Follow all safety protocols, infection control guidelines, andhospital policies to ensure a safe environment for both patientsand staff. Provide support to the surgical team in preparing forand managing any complications during procedures. Document surgicalprocedures, equipment used, and other pertinent details asrequired. Maintain compliance with all relevant healthcareregulations, including OSHA and HIPAA standards.
