Job:

As a member of the Cardiovascular Surgicalteam, the Surgical Technologist identifies and prepares sterileinstrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures. This roleassists the surgical team with the verification process,intra-operative procedures, and case closure protocol. In givencircumstances that may arise must respond appropriately toemergency situations. The Surgical Technologist works under thedirection of the Circulator and is accountable to the RN UnitDirector.

What You’ll Do:

• Identify and prepare sterileinstrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assistsurgical team with verification process.
• Assist surgical teamwith intra-operative procedures and with closure procedures.
• Review the surgical booking and matches procedures to preferencecards.
• Accurately uses surgical preference cards for selection ofinstrumentation.
• Inspect instruments for sterility, safety, andfunction.
• Evaluate surroundings to maintain sterile field.

WhoYou Are:

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist programrequired.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• Tech in Surgery(TS-C) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• CurrentBLS certification required.
• New Hampshire Medical Technologistregistration is required (unless other current NH state license isheld).
