MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education:

Graduate of an Associate or Bachelor’s degree program for SurgicalTechnologist.

Preferred Certification:

CST (certificationrequirement directed by local facility).

• A minimum of 18 monthsexperience is required for CST and/or Associate or Bachelor’sdegree.
• If a Surgical Technologist program has not beencompleted, due to training on the job or trained in the military
• Five (5) years’ work experience is required.
• Cannot hold aconcurrent position at a Trinity Health facility.
• Interpersonalskills necessary to interact effectively with patients, surgeonsand other patient care personnel, often during emergency orstressful situations.
• Analytical skills necessary in order toorganize and prepare operating room according to best practicemethods and procedures.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods(greater than eighty percent of work time) and to occasionally liftand position patients when preparing patients for operativeprocedures.
• Manual dexterity necessary to grasp and hold firmlyretractors and delicate surgical instruments. Mechanical aptitudeto operate a large variety highly technical medical equipment.
• Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a senseof honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire andmotivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals,and values of Trinity Health.
